COVID19

Covid caused serious issues,

'cause we ran out of soap, sprays and tissues.

We could not go to school,

Or jump into a pool,

2020 we will never miss you.

Then along came new year '21,

It turned out to be even less fun.

But the vaccine is here,

We will soon raise a cheer,

And we'll holiday under the sun

Christmas Workshop - Dec 18th 2020

It was the end of a very busy few days for all our Junior Classes as they were all able to take their turn to complete a number of Christmas activities in the Hall this week. Last week, Mr Morgan and his team of volunteers organised and decorated the Hall, turning it into a fabulous

D 19 Christmas workshop for the boys to enjoy. Our new caretaker Pat also offered his expertise, building a new crib and a very special postbox for the boys to post their letters to Santa. With the lights dimmed and the seasonal tunes playing, it became the perfect festive workplace. Even Santa dropped in one day to read a story for the younger classes...socially distant of course!

Déise Day - All Ireland Day Special - Dec 11th 2020

Spirits were soaring high in the school today as white and blue were the colours of the day ahead of Waterford's appearance in the All Ireland Hurling Final against Limerick next Sunday. Considering the limitations on life these days, the success of the team has given everyone a badly needed boost and so everyone was looking forward to the match to shout the Deise on.

"Fans in the Stands" - Dec 8th 2020

There is a huge sense of anticipation and excitement across the entire county as the Waterford Hurlers play Limerick in the All Ireland Hurling Final in Croke Park next Sunday. Thousands of supporters would normally make the journey to Dublin but with COVID restrictions as they are, the match will be played behind closed doors. Centra however provided us with 100 card board cutouts for us to turn into Deise supporters for the big day. These along with thousands of others would then be sent to Croke Park to support the team on the day. Well done to the boys from 3rd to 6th Class...ye did a great job!

"Feel Good Friday" - Nov 27th 2020

This term has been long and demanding for everyone so today we celebrated "Feel Good Friday". This was a chance to thank everyone for complying so well with all our COVID regulations and routines and for making school such a success so far. Regular classwork and timetables were pushed to one side and so it was a day for artwork, quizzzes and boardgames etc. Breaks were also restructured with extra space and time being added on as well. Football was also allowed to be played during break for the first time this year! Today also double as Deise Day ahead of the All Ireland Semi Final against Kilkenny over the weekend. For many, that feel good feeling continued on till Monday!

Déise Day - Nov 13th 2020

It was certainly an unusual time of the year to be celebrating Déise Day but with the Munster Hurling Final against Limerick being played over the weekend, there were blue and white jerseys to be seen all over the school today with everyone wishing Waterford all the best!

Halloween Dress Up - Oct 23rd 2020

The chance to dress up for Halloween bought a little bit of light relief for everyone. All classes got in on the act with a wide variey of spookey characters being marked present on the day.

Halloween Raffle - Oct 22nd 2020

COVID19 may have put a stop to us all gathering in the Hall for our annual Halloween Raffle but it didn't stop the excitement across the school as this year the winners were picked live on "Teams" by Mr Doran and available to be seen in all classrooms. We congratulate all the winners, especially Oscar the winner of the big prize....a new bike! Many thanks to everyone who supported this fundraiser so generously this year.

Everyone wished him well including the Staff, the BOM the Parents Association and especially the boys. We all wish Larry long life health and happiness in retirement
